Father's Day Tribute - Photos wanted

Since we did a photo tribute to our mothers (and mother figures in our lives) last month, we would like to do the same for our fathers (and father figures in our lives) on Father's Day weekend (20-21 June 2020) masses.

Please email your photo (JPEG format is best, no PDFs) with full name and indicating whether living or deceased to [email protected] by Monday, June 15. We cannot guarantee inclusion of photos after this date.

30 May 2020 Update

We have received the Archdiocese of Hartford's Guidelines for Opening Churches for Public Worship.
The gradual opening of churches will commence on Monday, June 8, 2020.  Our Basilica will begin by offering weekday Mass (Mon-Sat) for up to 50 people.  Temporary Mass Schedule will be posted shortly.

As for Sunday Mass, the dispensation from the Sunday obligation previously granted to all Catholics of the Archdiocese by the Archbishop has now been extended through Sunday, September 6, 2020. This will remain in effect even when the public celebration of Sunday Mass resumes, hopefully in the very near future.

Please visit this website regularly for the latest updates.

God Bless!

Prayer for the Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your venerable servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.  Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father
