Important Update

9 May 2021

An excerpt from a Notice sent by our Archdiocese on 9 May 2021:

Archbishop Blair, together with his brother bishops from the Dioceses of Bridgeport and Norwich, has announced that effective Saturday, May 22, 2021, beginning with the Vigil Mass of the Solemnity of Pentecost, the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation will expire and not be renewed.

Additionally, in alignment with guidelines provided by the state of Connecticut, beginning on May 19, 2021, Archbishop Blair has stated that parishes within the Archdiocese of Hartford can reopen to 100% capacity with no need for specific social distancing, returning to pre-COVID-19 procedures and routines with certain exceptions. Those exceptions and all new directives for liturgies in Churches of the Archdiocese of Hartford can be read here:

MJM-by-Terry WaldronBlessed Michael McGivney, pray for us!

Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.  Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father
